How to Clean Your Carpet
No matter how much you try to protect your carpet from stains, it will eventually scum to this despair. Though there is nothing like professional carpet cleaning in Toronto, but still, there are certain hacks which can help. Likewise, here are the few mentions:
Blotting
Do not rub your stains in an attempt to remove it, instead dab it with a soft cloth, tissue paper or a sponge. Rubbing causes the stain to spread and get into carpet fibers.
Shaving Gel/Cream
If it is a general stain, a shaving cream works the best. Apply the cream over the stain and let it settle for about 30 minutes. Later, blot it with a cloth or tissue paper. Finish your stain cleaning by spraying with a mixture of vinegar and water (1:1) and wiping it with a clean cloth.
Gum Removal
If a gum is stuck to the carpet, then it can be a tedious job. Grab a couple of ice-cubes and put it on the gum. Freeze-dry it for 30 seconds. Then, use a spoon to lift the gum and cut the strands as close as possible so that the spot is not noticeable.
Soda
Club soda is very effective for beer and wine stains if used properly. Blot the stained area with soda. Sprinkle vinegar and water solution (1:1) on the area. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Then soak it up with a clean sponge. Repeat this step, if required. Once the stain is removed, clean the spot with warm water. Brush your hands against the spot. Place a towel and put some weight on the towel for it to soak up the warm water and let the carpet dry.
Dishwasher
For hard to remove grease stains, spray the detergent on the stain. It will cut through the grease on the carpet the same way as it does on the utensils. Later, dab it with a tissue paper. Repeat the process for bigger stains.
